About Streaming Maniac
Streaming Maniac is a guide to intellectual video and audio lectures on the Web. You'll find fascinating talks on politics, history, science, philosophy and more, featuring some of the leading thinkers of our day. These lectures are streamed free-of-charge as a public service from universities, think tanks, and other organizations.
Right now, the Web world of intellectual streaming video is like a television with 6 million channels and no TV Guide. I created Streaming Maniac to make looking for interesting lectures less time-consuming and more rewarding.
The lauching pad on the right will take you directly to several major university and think tank lecture sites. In addition, when I find a particularly intriguing lecture, I'll tell you about it and provide a link to it from the Streaming Maniac homepage.
All you need to access this sumptuous intellectual feast is a computer with a video card and a free, easily downloadable media player such as Real Player, QuickTime or Windows Media Player. (Most new computers come with these already installed.)
If you discover a great lecture or lecture site that I haven't found yet, please let me know. If I like it, I'll add it to my list.
Thanks and enjoy!
